Since 1984, Indiana Teen Institute has hosted award winning, residential, summer leadership camps. Participating individuals and teams work with ITI facilitators to gain knowledge in the areas of leadership, team building, action planning, and servanthood.
Participants typically apply to attend the ITI summer camp as members of a team comprised of at least four youth and one adult. Teams may represent a school or a community based agency or organization. Individual high school aged youth participants may apply to attend the high school leadership camp.
A combination of fun, workshops, team building initiatives, recreational activities, general sessions and small group discussions synergize the process.
The intent of ITI is that participants will continue promoting safer and healthier Hoosier communities long after the program has concluded.
The ITI team believes the real work begins when the workshops end!

The Indiana Teen Institute has received national recognition awards from the Adirondack Prevention Research group of New York, a research organization that specializes in evaluating youth leadership and prevention programs.
The Adirondack Prevention Research Group noted that ITI has consistently demonstrated outstanding effectiveness, not only in substance abuse prevention, but also in promoting and sustaining positive prevention and leadership values.
